Everyone loves how smart you are, because you are the glue that holds everything together. It feels that your smartness is used against you, because a “smart person” should be able to do hold it together. You know that you can’t keep going like this and are ready to challenge what a “smart person” is and should be able to do.

Been told to stop thinking.

People tell you to let it go, but the thinking or “over thinking” is a reflection of something important to you that you not be able to put into words yet. You see your past and the person you used to be, and, for you, this person will not fit with what you want to do in your life moving forward. You want to be someone different but there is no place in your life to speak of this. Everyone around you expects the same old you, and they may even struggle to adjust if you change and start asking for more. Nonetheless, you are ready to ask for it.

My name is Bao.

Whether you’re a young person starting your life, a working professional, or a retiree, at whatever stage you are in life, you have one thing in common - you’re a thinker who is done with struggling to handle life’s pressures, burn out, and relationships. You have already been reflecting and doing something about these problems in your life for a long time.

You don’t need a therapist who tells you what to do. As the expert in your life, as a thinker, you already know or have an inkling of what you need to do. You want a therapist who can partner with you on this knowing or to make more known this expertise that you have.

Our work together will involve a retelling of your story in ways that will help you to identify what is important to you, and to bring out skills and wisdom that can support your next steps in redefining and reclaiming your life.

As a 2nd generation Asian woman, I work within the intersectionality of race, gender, class and culture. You deserve to have a future defined by YOU. You are more than your single story.
